Setting up Microsoft Outlook

Use the following configurations:
  1. If you are an AUB student:
    - pop3s.students.aub.edu.lb (port 995)
    - ssmtp.students.aub.edu.lb or smtps.students.aub.edu.lb (port 465)

Secure telnet access

You could telnet to AUBnet mail server, and use Pine, from any Internet-connected host with a client that supports the ssh protocol. Win95 and WinNT users can download putty. Once downloaded, run the program. At the configuration screen, enter "ssh.aub.edu.lb" [students should use ssh.students.aub.edu.lb] as the host name fill-in value, select SSH as the protocol and press the open button below. Wait until you are prompted for your login, enter your AUBnet userid.

Note:

  • Besides being encrypted, your session is being logged and archived.
  • Conventional TELNET & FTP is only available on-campus
