The sole responsibilities of AUBwlan Support Desks are:

  1. Subscribe AUB students with private computers to AUBnet services via AUBwlan.
  2. Troubleshoot AUBwlan, AUBdot1x and AUBsub connectivity problems at your private computer.

AUB Faculty and Staff Support Desks

AUB faculty and staff members with AUB owned computers or with private computers can contact the same departmental/Faculty Helpdesk or CNS helpdesk (http://www.aub.edu.lb/cns/helpdesk/) they usually refer to in their daily operation. The same procedures of scheduling followed for AUB owned computers are followed for faculty and staff private computers.

AUB Faculty and Staff can dial +961 1 751428 when calling from outside AUB for remote VPN connectivity issues only.

The responsibilities of CNS helpdesk for AUB faculty and staff AUB owned computers remain intact, however, the sole responsibilities of AUBwlan support desks for AUB faculty and staff private computers are:

  1. Subscribe private computers to AUBnet services via AUBwlan, AUBdot1x and Remote VPN.
  2. Troubleshoot AUBwlan and Remote VPN connectivity problems at your private computer.

Medical Center Doctors and Staff Support Desks

Medical Center (MC) doctors and staff with MC owned computers or with private computers should contact Medical Center - CNS helpdesk located on floor 1, room 108 (ext: 6050) to schedule an appointment.

Note: MC doctors and staff can dial +961 1 350000 when calling from outside MC for remote VPN connectivity issues only.

The responsibilities of Medical Center - CNS helpdesk for MC doctors and staff MC owned computers remain intact, however, the sole responsibilities of AUBwlan support desks for MC members private computers are:
  1. Subscribe private computers to AUBnet services via AUBwlan, AUBdot1x and Remote VPN.
  2. Troubleshoot AUBwlan and Remote VPN connectivity problems at your private computer.

Disclaimer

For users (students, AUB faculty and staff, MC doctors and staff) with private computers or private PDA/Cell-Phone devices, AUBwlan Support Desks can NOT and will NOT be responsible for:

  1. Any private computer or PDA/Cell-Phone device hardware repairs or upgrades.
  2. Securing spare parts to replace add or alter any private computer or PDA/Cell-Phone device hardware (including network cards).
  3. Any backup of data resident on the private computer or PDA/Cell-Phone device.
  4. Availing, installing, maintaining, upgrading the operating system, system drivers or any other software available or to be made available on the private computer or PDA/Cell-Phone device (including the Antivirus Software package).
  5. Solving any problem on the private computer other than those related to AUBwlan and/or remote VPN connectivity issues.
  6. In no event will AUBwlan Support Desks be liable for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages in connection with, or arising from any support and network connectivity services provided on the private computers or PDA/Cell-Phone devices owned by AUB students, AUB faculty members or staff, MC doctors or staff (including, but not limited to, loss of data, application programs, use, profits or other advantages, or any replacement of data reconstruction costs).

Important Note: Although PDA services are available over AUBnet, neither AUB-CNS nor MC-CNS support PDA/Cell-Phone device configuration or PDA/Cell-Phone device troubleshooting. It is the user's full responsibility to configure her/his PDA/Cell-Phone device as per the steps set by CNS, and then to troubleshoot any problem encountered in these devices.
