Pre-requisites needed to connect to AUBdot1x


  1. an active aubnet account. if your account is not active, follow this link to: http://www.aub.edu.lb/services/newuserid.html

  2. New students should complete the course pre-registration procedure.

  3. A laptop running one of the following tested operating systems:
    • Windows XP SP1 (patched to support WPA client)
    • Windows XP SP2
    • Windows Vista
    • Windows 7
    • Mac OSX 10.3.3 or higher
    • Other operating systems revisions or other operating systems (such as Windows 2000, Linux, etc...) may work but they were not tested or fully tested by AUB yet.

  4. A Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) or Wi-Fi capable cell phone running one of the following
    • Symbian OS 8
    • Windows 2003 CE
    • Windows Mobile 5.0/6.0 or higher
    • iPhone and iPod touch OS-X 2.0 or higher

  5. Operational wireless network card compliant with
    • IEEE802.11b/g
    • IEEE802.1x
    • WPAv2 (WPAv1, though operational, is strongly not recommended by CNS)

  6. Follow instructions to subscribe to AUB wireless services and configure your computer.

  • Licensed anti-virus software is recommended.
