What are the various AUB computing Accounts?

Computing and Networking Services provides access to different services that require user authentication. Some of these services require different login ID's and passwords. You identify yourself to the computer system when you login. Your username tells the computer who you are; your password proves that you are who you say you are. Like the PIN on your bank ATM card, your password is the key to your account. You must always keep it secret.

Before using any of the services below, you must activate that specific account first. (Please note that some labs might require other logins, check with the lab administrator.)

bullet What is an AUBnet account?

With an AUBnet Account, you have email, network and Internet access. AUBnet server provides every member of the campus community with space for storage. In addition to storing your email messages, this space can host your personal website.

Please note that AUBnet username is sometimes required to activate other accounts. Therefore, please activate this account first, because having an AUBnet account is your key to most AUB computing services.

Confirm AUBnet Account (This is only applicable to AUB Staff not including AUB Faculty) You need the AUBnet Confirmation Code to be able to complete this step.

bullet What is an AUBsis account?
AUBsis, AUB Student Information System, is a web-based application designed to provide services to students and faculty over the internet. Some services provided will include registration (adding/dropping classes), class schedule, grades, transfer credit, changing your PIN number, viewing your address information and billing statements.

bullet What is a NETg account?
NETg provides computer-based training (CBT) courses available within the campus. Some of the benefits of CBT is that CBT is self-paced, flexible, and individualized. Currently, computer related courses such as C and C++ Programming, Internet, HTML, Java and Javascript courses, in addition to Microsoft Access, Exchange, Office suite of products are offered.

bullet What is a Moodle account?
The word Moodle is an acronym for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. Moodle is an open source Learning Management System (LMS) used at many universities worldwide.

Moodle allows students to access course resources and materials from any Internet connected computer, regardless of the Operating System. Moodle will work with most Web browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and others).
