Pre-requisites to connect from the dorms
  1. A Laptop or desktop computer (any operating system) equipped with an Ethernet 10/100Mbps Network Interface Card (NIC). The network card can be built-in, picture 1, or can be add-on as shown in picture 2. The cost of an add-on Network Interface Card should not exceed 20-30$.

  2. A Category 5 or higher pre-terminated patch cord (RJ-45 connectors on both ends). Preferred length is 3-5 meters. Expected cost is 3-5$.

  3. Licensed valid anti-virus software.
  4. Active AUBnet Account. (If your account is not active, follow this link to activate your AUBnet account .)
  5. An AUBnet Payment SLIP (from the cashier's office) - each SLIP worth 15,000 L.L. allows for 66 days of network connectivity.
  6. Activation of the network connection at your room. http://www.aub.edu.lb/services/ssl/dorms.html
